Who else is patiently waiting for their Cyber Monday packages to arrive? As soon as I pull into my driveway I’m thinking please, please, please! Old Navy? You there? Where my new gap jeans at? Pixie pants? SHOES? BE HERE! I just want my new elementary teacher outfits! It’s comical to me that patience is a common characteristic of special education teacher because I am not patient AT ALL. Understanding, empathetic? Most days, but patient… Some might label it as patience and maybe it is but… I’m grateful my ability to wait for packages is not a criterion on my evaluation.
The temperature has drastically dropped in the Seattle area. I’ve found myself constantly bundling up as I’m headed into work because on average my classroom is below 0. This was my first week of co-teaching 1st grade social-emotional learning with a teacher I worked closely with last year. 23 tiny humans sitting on their little carpet squares, asking 101 questions is not something I’m use to. Maybe I’m a little nervous? Maybe I’m worried that my crew is going to be running amuck and I’m not in my classroom to answer my phone? Or maybe there’s actually a working heater in the classroom– but i’m 5 minutes too long in the sauna hot. I need to be very strategic about my Monday and Thursday outfits!
MONDAY D E T A I L S
Top: Old Navy | Cowl Neck: Similar | Jeans: Target (0 short) | Shoes: Toms (size 7.5) | Watch: here | Bracelet: here
Lunbox is from Old Navy but currently sold out–I will update when back in stock 🙂
Featured Teacher Staple: This white & black stripped crew can be worn so many ways. I’ve already worn in twice to work within the last 2 weeks because of it’s simple versatility. It’s lightweight, very soft, and is snug in all the right places. I’m wearing an x-small regular and it fits like a glove. My Old Navy super-cash can’t wait to buy this style in a couple more colors. I’ve realized I don’t have a great selection of basic layering tees.
—> dress it up: this beautiful velvet skirt + strappy sandals is the perfect teach to holiday party outfit!
Featured Teacher Staple: I’m loving this Stella & Dot necklace! This might be the perfect teacher necklace because it can dress up an outfit without causing little greasy fingers to constantly want to touch the sparkly faux jewels.
—-> dress it up: this cobalt blue dress + a pop of animal print is a fun & flirty fall/winter combination!
WEDNESDAY D E T A I L S
Featured Teacher Staple: I love this jacket! For less than $30, this stylish jacket was a student favorite. The slight shimmer and silkiness took my basic blue jeans to the next level. The waterfall front looked fabulous with a variety of different necklines and prints. You can buy this fall fashion find in black too!
—-> dress it up: little black slacks + patterned shirt + velvet heels = sophisticated comfort!
Featured Teacher Staple: Converses! A teachers beat friend. Comfortable, durable, fashionable, and reasonably priced– what more can we ask for? Converse help build relationships. There’s nothing more magical than when 30 children are wearing the same pair of shoes as you and they think you’re the coolest teacher ever. I’ve only owned these one pair (hard to tell right ;)) and they’ve lasted me 4 years. It’s probably time I invest in a fresh pair… I just love the character, you know?
—-> dress it down: olive joggers + drop shoulder sweater = Funday Friday
—-> dress it up: pair a leather mini + Velvet booties
